If any developer has the motivation to implement some more dynamic method, then I'm sure we can compare and contrast the different methods. But let us wait until we have some actual implementation to talk about, and not worry about "reexamining the thought process". There is nothing in this commit which will prevent anyone from implementing alternatives. I do have my own alternatives in mind, for instance, and I still intend to implement those (once I have the time to concentrate on them...).
