The old SCSI system under 2.2.X has been migrated to the newer, more superior 'CAM' SCSI system under 3.1 (which has a different API/include files etc.)... You might want to get the application author to post more details to the -current or -hackers emailing list... Alternatively if they have access to a 3.1 box they can get an overview of the new CAM system from 'man cam'.
