Well, I ran X -configure last night and then ran the 
test configuration file.  It seemed to work (meaning 
that I had what I guess was a basic X window/screen 
with no windows in it.)


Unfortunately this is my first time dealing with 
XFree86, so I have no idea how to use it.


Could someone point me to a good XFree86 for FreeBSD 
(or generic, if that's all there is or is needed) 
site?


I generally can muddle my way through if there is 
something to read on the matter (except 'man' pages, 
which often leave me glazed over, but that's another 
story).
