The whole purpose of a win modem is that windows will do a lot of the work
of a regular modem that's why they are cheap and why they only work under
windows. I believe you are out of luck. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Subject: Win modem

I have a Spirit 56K PCI modem - which I believe someone told me
is a win modem - not usable with freebsd 2.2.8 - since then I have not
been able to use my freebsd online.

1. is there support for this modem with version 3.3?

2. If so, is it possible to download the upgrade on windows, and then
install the upgrade when I fire up freebsd?

Thanks,

Dave Banning
