I have a Dell optiplex 333mhz PII with an adaptec 2940 Ultra card and the 2.2.6 CD. I am going to set this machine up to dual boot. Windows95 and FreeBSD. I stuck in an 1.6 gig IDE drive which I am going to run BSD off of. I really don't care if I can access the scsi devices from the BSD side or not. I suppose it might be kind of handy but it does not really matter. This is what happens when I try to boot from the floppy to do the install: ahc0 <adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI host adapter> rev 0 int a irq 11 on pci 2:9:0 ahc0 aic 7880 wide channel SCSI id:7 16SCBs ahc0 waiting for SCSI devices to settle (ahc0:0:0): "WDIGTL WDE 4360-1807A3 1-80" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 sd0(ahc0:0:0):Direct access 4095MB (8388314 512 byte sectors) (ahc 0:A:2:0): refuses WIDE negotioation using 8 bit transfers ahc0:board is not responding (ahc 0:2:0): SCB 0x0 - timed out in datain phase, SCSISEQ = 0x12 SSTATO=0x0 SSTAT1=0x3 (ahc 0:2:0): abort message in message buffer And then it seems to loop.
