Thanks, Make will use whatever comes first in your path, unless you specifically override it with some environment variables. Some pertinent variables are CC (the C compiler) and CXX (the C++ compiler). You could set these to the value you want in your .login or .cshrc or whatever the correct place is for your shell :).
