I agree, but we can't have two different thigns with the same name.  Once
the old lkm's are truely gone, then we can choose better terminology for
them.

It's the argument for VOP_READ()/VOP_WRITE() etc.  It is a vnode flag, but 
specfs passes it down to the drivers.
