I wonder if:

./usr/lib/debug/boot type=3Ddir uname=3Droot gname=3Dwheel mode=3D0755

is also in the METALOG, or each individual directory to that path.
If they're not, those directories should get created from
etc/mtree/BSD.debug.dist when MK_DEBUG_FILES is set?

What is the full command to trigger this error?
