i asked this question on the kde mailing list, but no one answered, so i'll try
this list.

i'm trying to use kde's display manager, kdm, instead of xdm. however, when i
boot up (or try to run it from the command line) i get the following error
messages:

kdm[179]: can't execute "XBINDIR/xrdb" (err 2)
/kernel: pid 174 (kdm), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped)
kdm[158]: Unknown session exit code 35584 from process 174

i'm running freebsd 4.0-release and kde 1.1.2
