Yes. However the GUI support under openjdk6 is iffy.
% java -version
openjdk version "1.6.0-internal"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0-internal-root_24_may_2009_16_24-b00)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0-b17, mixed mode)
