When installing linux-png I get the following error from ports; su-2.03# make install ===> Installing for linux-png-1.0.3_1 ===> linux-png-1.0.3_1 depends on file: /compat/linux/etc/redhat-release - found libpng-1.0.3-4.i386.rpm old format database is present; use --rebuilddb to generate a new format database error: cannot open /compat/linux/var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/graphics/linux-png. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/graphics/linux-png. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/graphics/linux-png. su-2.03# Any idea what I can do with this? I have tried make --rebuilddb install and all possible combinations. I went into the directory where packages.rpm is and tries doing a rpm --rebuilddb packages.rpm I see a few other people on the list have had the same problem, and not gotten responses. Maybe I have to go to more drastic measures... deinstalling & reinstalling the whole linux-base? (could I do that without disturbing other linux applications on the machine? Maybe I have to rebuild the ports? I'm using; 4.3-STABLE Any pointers would be helpful.
