Hi For everyone who is interested, here are some project details about an upcoming solution for the famous 'laptop multihoming issue'. Comments are very welcome. greets, t. ----- Forwarded message ----- Date: Tue, 27 May 2003 14:21:22 +0200 To: FreeBSD-rc@yahoogroups.com Subject: Netprofile: abstract and overview I have posted an abstract and some basic requirements at http://netprofile.fsck.ch/ Can you please read through this and post some comments? Also, the best name I could come up with was netprofile, which seems to be used by a similar product from another company. Someone got a better idea or should we just stick with bootconfig, bootprofile, or whatever? My next steps will be to set up a test system (5.1Beta2 or current, so far my laptop still runs 4.8) and to have a look at everything we got so far (location.sh, Mike and Dougs hacks, setnetparm, sysutils/personality, quickswitch for linux and possibly others). Also, someone told me to have a look at the gentoo init stuff, lets see how they solved this (if at all). greets, t. ----- End forwarded message -----
