Hi ! I just updated the sources of 2.2.1-RELEASE to 2.2-stable with cvsup and made a 'make world', 'make distribution' in /usr/src/etc and recreated all entries in /dev. Everything worked well, including building and installing a new kernel. But now the kernel panics when I reboot or halt the system saying syncing disks ... 4 4 done panic: free: multiple frees When I reboot, the system panics again with trap 12 in mount command (page not found while in kernel mode). The only way to get the system running again is to boot in single user mode, do a fsck / and an exit. Then it comes up without problems ... ... just to the next reboot/halt . Where is my fault ??? Thanks for any reply ... JW
