Hello Everybody! I am writing to ask some pieces of advice from you. I have Toshiba Satellite Pro 445CDX running FreeBSD5.2-Release. Everything is OK, except 3Com Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX PC CARD (model 3CCFE575CT-D) hooked up to PCMCIA slot. The system does not recognized neither with GENERIC nor OLDCARD kernel. Switching between PCIC Compatible and CardBus/16-Bit modes in BIOS does not help. I use PCIC Compatible, because CardBus/16-Bit mode does not let me use 56K Global Modem PC Card (model 3CCM156). dmesg tells me pcic0: Polling mode pccard0:<PC Card 16-Bit bus (classic)> on pcic0 pccard1:<PC Card 16-Bit bus (classic)> on pcic0 ... pccard: card inserted, slot 1 #(it's my modem) sio4 bla-bla-bla sio4 type 16550A pccardc dumpcis tells me about slot1 (modem) only. Additional info. Originally I installed FreeBSD 4.9 on the laptop but the system told me that 32-bit bus is unsupported when I tried to insert my 3Com Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX PC CARD (model 3CCFE575CT-D) . Perhaps I still have the same problem. But as far I know freebsd5.2 supports 32-bit bus, may be laptop's PCMCIA controller has 16 bit bus only. Any suggestions are appreciated in advance. PS. Allied Telesyn Fast Ethernet CardBus PC Card (AT-2800TX) does't work too.
