ports/news/newscache now gives me a sig11. It didn't a few weeks ago but I really can't pin it down any closer than that. I thought it may have been related to the new gcc import but I'm not able to check that. After it gave me the sig11 I recompiled it and its dependancies and that didn't fix anything. I'm running -CURRENT as of 7/31/03. I have the following in /etc/syslog.conf: news.* /var/log/news.log I see this in /var/log/news.log: Aug 1 10:36:06 energistic NewsCache[75426]: NewsCache Server Start Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] connect Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: NServer::NServer() hostname set to: energistic.com Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] MODE READER Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] NEWGROUPS 030519 214720 Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: active database timed out Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[97305]: RServer::issue: issue list active * Aug 1 10:36:38 energistic NewsCache[75426]: 97305 caught signal 11 Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[68550]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] connect Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[68550]: NServer::NServer() hostname set to: energistic.com Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[68550]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] MODE READER Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[68550]: bdsl.66.12.217.43.gte.net [66.12.21 7.43] GROUP alt.martial-arts.tae-kwon-do Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[68550]: RServer::issue: issue group alt.mar tial-arts.tae-kwon-do Aug 1 10:36:41 energistic NewsCache[75426]: 68550 caught signal 11 I couldn't find a debug option to force 'newscache' to deliver more interesting information... -Steve
