The pkg command is not suitable for scripting or automated installs, as it requires human intervention. At least, that's what we did back in FreeBSD's Bronze Age. ;-) I would recommend some text like this. FreeBSD 9.1 and later includes a utility for interactive "bootstrapping" of pkgng. This bootstrap utility downloads and installs pkgng.
