This type, sig_atomic_t, isn't mentioned at all in the entire manual
domain in FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE.

Any pointers?  I understand the principle, but I'm wondering how you
found out about this thing.  Is this from some external "safe signal
handling" documentation reference.
