https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D208597 Bug ID: 208597 Summary: nfe, MCP79: up-down pingpong at boot time, but no dhcp Product: Base System Version: 10.3-BETA2 Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: harri@afaics.de CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 169066 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D169066&action= =3Dedit screenshot Hi folks, the nfe driver of FreeBSD 4.3 does some kind of up-down pingpong at boot ti= me. DHCP is stuck in an endless loop. No login, unless I disconnect the ethernet cable . See the attached snapshot. Hardware is MCP79. (Booting without ACPI fails; the kernel panics very earl= y at boot time with "panic: running without device atpic requires a local APIC".) Every helpful comment is highly appreciated.
