I also saw a UFS panic recently, although rather different from Kris's. This was on -STABLE as of 2002-02-20, the panic being "ffs_valloc: dup alloc". http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=kern/35248 I still have the core file if that would help.
