It's faster to burn it to CD -- and it didn't take me long to realize that no matter how free it was, it wasn't what I wanted out of my OS. I disagree that it's "weak". The problem is that it's competing with legislation and entrenched corporate interests that have a lot of market clout and paid lobbyists fighting against any rapid changes in market realities. Visibility is a pretty handy tool for resisting those influences of course -- and that's what Shuttleworth is bringing to Ubuntu (as you've pretty much pointed out): visibility.
