The firewire driver is deprecated and slated to be removed before 16.0, and
there hasn't been any activity here for a long time.  The discussion sugges=
ts
that there were generic SMP stability problems at play here too, which shou=
ld
no longer be relevant.  So, I think there isn't much value in keeping this
report open.
