FreeBSD is different than OSF/1. From the command shell aspect, they look alike. Look at http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/. Read part 1, section 2, 'Installing FreeBSD' Basically, what you need to do is download the image of a floppy disk, named boot.flp. BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THIS AS A BINARY IMAGE. This file contains all the bits that make a floppy. The tool, fdimage.exe is a DOS executable that will take boot.flp and write it to the floppy. Does this make sense? The syntax is in the handbook. Boot.flp is located at ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.ORG/pub/FreeBSD/2.2.6-RELEASE/floppies/boot.flp Then, you boot the floppy. Please read the handbook part 1, section 2, look at the new user tutorial at http://www.freebsd.org/tutorials, and, subscribe to the freebsd-newbies mailing list. See the handbook, part 5, section 27 for information on subscribing to mailing lists. The newbies mailing list has lots of help in getting started. When you have problems, read the handbook and the FAQ. The FAQ is at http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
