firewire is in 5.0 and will be in 4.8
it missed 4.7 by a week or two.
it can be backported to 4.5 very easily by simply copying the
/sys/dev/firewire directory into your kernel sources
and also teh config file changes..  (/sys/conf/files, etc.)
