'uname -a' will give you the information..

e.g.

 --> uname -a
FreeBSD axp.csl.sri.com 4.7-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE #3: Thu Oct 10 14:58:35 PDT 2002     hogsett@axp.csl.sri.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/AXP  alpha
