No, in this case I'm afraid it won't.  lost+found is used to create hard
links to file data that fsck(8) has found while repairing the
filesystem, but that have somehow lost their linkage to the directory
structure.  Therefore lost+found needs to be part of the same filesystem
that is being checked.
