Well I upgraded to 2.2-960801-SNAP and it has fixed the problem! I've got no idea why, but it has.... The tape has now been running for about an hour (max tape speed is over 3 hours to write a whole tape) so I suspect it will keep going. Thanks for the help. -Matt
