I'm running FreeBSD 2.2.7-RELEASE with a custom (but not very custom)
recompiled kernel, on a 233 Pentium II (Dell XPS). The machine has
been up for about 13 days.

This morning odd things are happening.

/proc empty when I ls -R it. Just an empty directory.

w, who, uptime all spit a page full of gibberish at me before reporting
anything, causing the xterm to become screwy. Other than this
unusual behavior, thing seem to work ok. various xsysstats are working,
as is "top".

The gibberish is included as an attachment, for those who are curious.
Apparently the garbage is being written to stderr, while the output
of w, who, and uptime goes to stdout and appears ok.

Has anyone else had their /proc disappear?

Thede
