Today, my attempts to record from the sound card were without success. I tried several programs, e.g. rec from the sox port, xmradio, mxv, and rec that was posted on multimedia just a few minutes ago. All attempts resulted in distorted recordings. It seems that all recordings were faster than expected and the samples contained a lot of garbage. My machine is running FreeBSD 4.4-PRERELEASE, the latest cvsup was done at 12:30 GMT. The files that were changed by the fix for PR#29709 are already included, (I assume): dsp.c: * $FreeBSD: src/sys/dev/sound/pcm/dsp.c,v 1.15.2.9 2001/08/15 00:34:59 cg Exp $ channel.c: * $FreeBSD: src/sys/dev/sound/pcm/channel.c,v 1.19.2.14 2001/08/15 00:34:59 cg Exp $ The sound driver in use is: FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Aug 15 2001 14:47:02 Installed devices: pcm0: <CMedia CMI8738> at io 0xa400 irq 11 (1p/1r/0v channels duplex) Is this a problem in PCM support or should I look for a bug in cmi.c ? Btw, similar to other reports on the list, at least one playback program is now broken. x11amp produces a lot of klicking sounds while mpg123 and waveplay seem to run without problems. +gg To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
