Necessity brought me to porting FreeBSD's MD5-based crypt to Java. If you have a need for such a thing, its home is http://www.spatula.net/software/freeBSDcrypt-1.0.jar This is more or less a direct port of Poul-Henning Kamp's code, and so it is distributed under the same license.
