I also installed 3.22.15g. That "library version problem" comment reminded
me that I had installed one of those upgrade-to-stable tarballs so that I
could install new ports.

from my pkg_info 227upgrade-98.11.11

So maybe you should "pkg_add
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-2.2-stable/Latest/227u
pgrade.tgz" and see if it works for you after that.
