Me too :-), with a 4MB SanDisk.

I scratched my head for a bit on this one. Finally I put the flash in a
FreeBSD box with an IDE disk, and spammed the first few blocks (10, IIRC)
off the disk on to the flash using dd. Then I fixed up the fdisk and
disklabel on the flash, newfs'd it and copied on (what would have been) the
contents of the PicoBSD floppy (the files, not the disk image). That works
fine.
