Yes, this works just like a standard PC.

    Are there any quirks I should be aware of?
We can't seem to get the Geode ATA controller to do DMA, although
according to spec it does DMA-33: it stays in PIO4, alas.

    Do you use a regular HD, or CF for storage?
Both ;-)

    Have you done any network throughput/forwarding benchmarks on them?
I once measured 700kbps throughput, AFAIR.
