Can you elucidate a bit more on what bits you consider underpowered or
inflexible?  The only concern is upgradeability, really.

It supports RedHat RPMs installed into the Linux compatibility system
/compat/linux, which must be prepopulated with Linux libraries
(/usr/ports/emulators/linux_base).
