I think the point is, that con's of the request outweigh the pro's for this particular request. We would end up with subjects such as.. FreeBSD: Re: FreeBSD: Re: FreeBSD: Re: A request to the list owner. Believe me, this is more than annoying, it runs any ability to keep track of a thread in an efficient or reasonable manor. If you are using a UNIX based mail reader there are several ways to accurately sort the mailing lists so that nothing slips through the cracks. If you are using a Windows based mailer, either find a better one that will allow you to sort your mail by specific headers in the e-mail, or setup the best rules you can with what you have to work with, and live with the overflow. Here where I work, I have to use MS Outlook 97 (Exchange Server), and have rules setup to catch thing to: cc: from: freebsd-questions and questions@freebsd.org. It works about 99.5% of the time so I can't complain. But at home I also have procmail filter everything into specific folders when it is delivered. -Chris > -----Original Message----- > From: Joe Konecny [SMTP:jkonecn@green-mfg.com] > Sent: Thursday, July 01, 1999 3:15 PM > To: Doug > Cc: FreeBSD List > Subject: Re: A request to the list owner. > > Mine sorts by Sender...
