Kmail will probably be already installed if you install KDE. (Note that an important component of KDE2, kdelibs2, has been marked forbidden because of a security exploit. For that reason and the fact that KMail and other parts of 3.x are better and KDE3's faster without major reliability problems I reccomend installing the latest KDE3.) I use Sylpheed (actualy the Claws cutting-edge branch), which is a simple GTK based mail reader.
