The jdk links dynamically to libc, but as I understand Satoshi there will be no about libs shipped with 3.0. Anyway, the C compiler in FreeBSD-3.0 will still be able to produce about object files. So JNI will be useable with an aout JDK. BTW, I'm not going to build an GUI-less ELF jdk for 3.0 release, since the jdk is not on the CD and the jdk build process has some complexity I never followed in the past.
