At the time I was working on it, you committed something that caused some reasonably massive conflicts, and, combined with some discussions with msmith, I decided to dump the design I was using (my goal, then, was a generic library which could handle all these conf files on /etc by using different backends and providing a single frontend). Converting sysinstall to use libconf, though, is straightforward, if a bit tiring. If the functionality is desired, one can strip down conf.c to what sysinstall needs, and add it to sysinstall source files. (libconf2000.tar.gz has the relevant code) -- Daniel C.
