The options are documented there. I look through the CVSup log to see if anything "major" has been changed. If so I "make world" in the evening (which takes about 9 hours on my machine). If the changes were rather simple I do a "make -DNOCLEAN buildworld", which takes about an hour to figure out what needs to be done and then build a couple of programs. After that completes, do a "make installworld".
