Unfortunately we do not use apache at all in our environment. So cannot comment
on anything about it. But indeed we switched to nginx due to the various
problems of apache.

Although apache httpd has been a widely used webserver and a classic
application however my experience is apache really works well with other
products from Apache family. Apart from that the overhead is too much for
normal users like me.
