Hello Everyone. I am trying to configure my FreeBSD 3.4-R as a Gateway. I have my FreeBSD machine up and running on the cable modem and I have another NIC in the machine which is configured to use IP of 192.168.1.1. I have a windows 98 machine that I wanted to use to connect to the internet via the FreeBSD machine. My Windows 98 machine has a address of 192.168.1.11. I have gone to the handbook on the internet and configured the windows machine. The only thing is that when the connection is not active. I can ping the windows machine from my FreeBSD machine but I cannot ping my FreeBSD machine from my Windows machine. I don't know why this is not working. I am a newbie.. Please help.. Here is the configuration on my windows machine. Identification tab: Computer Name: win98 workgroup: Jehovah Configuration Tab: TCP/IP properties of my NIC: Specify an IP address: 192.168.1.11 SN Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS Configuration: Host: win98 Domain: (empty) DNS search order: 24.3.0.38 24.3.0.39 I don't know if I am missing anything on the windows side.
