The manual page states that "``Big Five'' is the de facto standard for encoding Traditional Chinese text."

However, nowadays Unicode encodings like UTF-8 are often used, so it is incorrect to state that Big5 is the de-facto standard.

The first Taiwanese website I chose at random is encoded in UTF-8:  www.ltn.com.tw
