Add the following line to kernel configuration: options ACPI_DEBUG Then, type this from loader prompt: set debug.acpi.layer=ACPI_ALL_COMPONENTS set debug.acpi.level=ACPI_LV_ALLOCATIONS boot You will be able to trace all refcount changes. Once it boots, login and do this to turn it off: sysctl debug.acpi.layer=NONE However, I am afraid it will spit out too much information for you to interpret the data. :-( Jung-uk Kim
