Cd to the /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale/C directory and make a link from XLC_LOCALE to XLC_LOCALE:. Alternatively, edit the lines within your /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale/locale.alias file that refer to the C locale and add one that doesn't use a colon as a separator.
