One question, though... are people going to be as frank about any real problems in the more open environment of a newsgroup? Because posting to the list will become equivalent to posting a a newsgroup. Yes, I know the lists are open, but you DO have to make a bit more of an effort to get them. And you're not going to come across them in casual browsing. Perhaps new lists would be better, to lessen the impact of this factor.
