There is only one devil whereas there can be many demons.

Not that either is a relevant question to FreeBSD in any case since we
use a DAEMON.  Notice the difference in spelling.  It's a greek word
which means "helpful spirit or worker."  I suppose the closest english(?)
word would be "genie."
