Your best bet is to get on the web site:  http://www.freebsd.org/  and
start reading and following links.    Everything that would be said in
this questions list is in there and a lot more.

There are a lot of additional web sites you can look at as well.

But, the best thing is to get a computer, install FreeBSD and tinker
around with it until you get a good feel for it.
