I'm with you there, Mike. Linux (not to disparage it) is the divergent
one. Increasing the level of incompatibility will only have a concomitant
effect on people's level of confusion. This particular change won't break
anything huge, but I disagree with the overall Linux-emulation
philosophy. See below for more unices ...

Solaris 7 (and 6)
xenon [3:43pm] # route
usage: route [ -fnqv ] cmd [[ -<qualifers> ] args ]

SunOS 5.5.1:
senator [3:50pm] # route
senator [3:50pm] # 

(i.e. nothing)

IRIX:
copper# route
usage: route [ -nqvfF ] cmd [[ -<qualifers> ] args ]
