Booting head -r356187 on an old G4 PowerMac3,6 shows the following Giant warnings: # dmesg -a | grep Giant WARNING: Device "kbd" is Giant locked and may be deleted before FreeBSD 13.0. WARNING: Device "openfirm" is Giant locked and may be deleted before FreeBSD 13.0. WARNING: Device "powermac_nvram" is Giant locked and may be deleted before FreeBSD 13.0. WARNING: Device "agp" is Giant locked and may be deleted before FreeBSD 13.0. WARNING: Device "consolectl" is Giant locked and may be deleted before FreeBSD 13.0. ( This was booted with kern.vty=sc , mostly because on some other hardware kern.vty=vt historically did not handle the 2560x1440 screen [crashing during boot] but sc worked fine. ) === Mark Millard marklmi at yahoo.com ( dsl-only.net went away in early 2018-Mar)home | help
