with what we ended up doing as a workaround...(it's not a bug, it's a
feature)

Thanks for responding, though.  It's nice to know that others are having the
same trouble.

Do you know by chance who works on the RAID drivers?  I was thinking that
maybe there is some chance that they have a working driver kicking around
that they haven't committed yet....(don't pinch me too hard, I might wake up
and smell the burning circuit boards...>;-)
