It is or PATA controller, or SATA in legacy emulation mode. As I can see on web, there are also AHCI capable SATA channels present on this chip: http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/server-devel/2007-July/000070.html How it is reported in pciconf? May be there is some way to make AHCI attach it? Isn't there any options about it's operation in BIOS? Don't you have any datasheet for this device? Also a bit strange for me this messages: ata0 at port 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 irq 14 on isa0 ata0: reset tp1 mask=00 ostat0=ff ostat1=ff ata0: [MPSAFE] ata0: [ITHREAD] ata1 at port 0x170-0x177,0x376 irq 15 on isa0 ata1: reset tp1 mask=00 ostat0=ff ostat1=ff ata1: [MPSAFE] ata1: [ITHREAD] channels 0 and 1 are legacy ATA channels. A bit strange to see them when AFAIK there is no PATA support on ICH10. If it is not a parts of Marvell, then I have no idea what is this. -- Alexander Motin
